Loving life

For the first time in our new house, Rob and I have really been enjoying the great outdoors. We bought new outdoor furniture and have planted in our garden. It's nice just being home!

In the Field

I'm dreaming of being in Santa Cruz, California right now, at the Outstanding in the field. It is a dinner resort based on dining on the same soil where your food is grown. I want to be there right now.

Mother Daughter Bridal Party

This second party was a Mother Daughter Bridal Party for one of my bestest!

Who doesn't want the first impression to be fabulous? And how do you achieve that? Start with the door.

Alli (the bride) is getting married in Laguna Beach, California May 30. She is using pink and orange as her colors (think J Crew) so we infused those colors into the party.

My mother in law and I gathered all of our beautiful teacups and saucers for the coffee bar. We also arranged bouquets in gorgeous teapots for centerpieces throughout the house.

More sweets as favors. Mmmmmm truffles.

Party Planning

Parties Parties Parties have dictated my life the past few weekends. The first party I hosted was a "Sip and See" honoring none other than my new baby sister Francie Adele and my parents. This party was perfect because it gave my parent's friends the opportunity to come to their home and see the baby and the nursery. So we themed it to coordinate with the nursery, gotta love Pink and Green.

For dessert table, we had 2 types of bonbons with the initial "F" on them. Plus a wonderful cake, who doesn't love italian creme and an assortment of candy.

Since it was a "Sip and See" it's was a must to have fabulous drink fountain.

My adorable cousin in suspenders wanted to help with the gifts.


Every party needs pretty flowers and sweet favors. Our favors happen to be extra large candy bars with labels titled "Francie Adele May 7, 2009."

I believe the party was a smash.

Spring Gardening

The weather has been beautiful, so I have been redesigning my front yard landscaping. It is going to look so lovely when I am done with it. But I caught the flu from my husband so I have been out of commission since Monday. I will post some pictures of my garden when I'm back and running.

Locally grown

I am now 100% devoted to organic foods. I was watching 60 minutes tonight and they had an interview with Alice Waters. She owns a restaurant called Chez Panisse in Berkley, California and has become the mother of slow foods. During the interview Alice brings us into her kitchen to show us how to make scrumptious recipes from organic locally produced foods. Her kitchen is beautiful and very old world. Now, should I plant strawberries or lavender first?

I'm thinking chinese sounds good, as long as my meal is topped off with this splendid little fortune cookie.
